When Jim Cook first mentioned his idea for the Pacific Northwest Labor Arts Festival to me, he had a pretty good vision of what he wanted to do, and that was about all that he had. He needed to convince others to commit their time, money and facilities for his cause. He came to realize that what he really needed to lend his event the air of authenticity that would give his fundraising the necessary momentum was a solid, creative identity. Something that would appeal to both the artists he needed to bring on board for the event and to those who would contribute their time, money, skills and space. This is the design that I came up with for Jim that would ultimately be used for the mailings, flyers and posters for the event.
